The apparatus has fixed supports (3, 4) arranged in a zone near to a lower position of a dual-hook (10) for guiding vertical displacement of steel cable slings (1, 2) to a position, in which rings (8, 9) of the slings engaged on the hook are in contact with abutments of the supports. Slopes are formed at ring contact parts contacting with the abutments such that the rings are pivoted to folded positions, and the hook is disengaged from the rings at the end of a vertical path of movement of the hook. A tilted plate (12) comprises a catch close to U-shaped recesses (11) of the supports.
