In vitro process to test the toxicity of a physical and/or chemical agent, comprises: cultivation of mammalian cells in the presence of the chemical and/or physical agents; determination of the expression profile of desired genes of specific nucleic acids, in the obtained cells; and comparison of the obtained expression profile or the genes with the expression profile or the genes for which the cultivation and determination is carried out in the absence of the agents to be tested. In vitro process to test the toxicity of a physical and/or chemical agent, comprises: cultivation of mammalian cells in the presence of the chemical and/or physical agents; determination of the expression profile of desired genes of the nucleic acids comprising one of 51 fully defined 295-7042 base pair sequences (SEQ ID No. 1-51) given in the specification, in the obtained cells; and comparison of the obtained expression profile or the genes with the expression profile or the genes for which the cultivation and determination is carried out in the absence of the agents to be tested. Independent claims are included for: (1) a device to test the toxicity of compounds, comprising nucleotide probes hybridizing itself with messenger RNA or with complementary DNA produced by at least a gene of the nucleic acids comprising one of 51 fully defined 295-7042 base pair sequences (SEQ ID No. 1-51) given in the specification; and (2) a case or kit to test the toxicity of compounds, comprising the device; and reagents necessary for forming a hybridization complex between the nucleotide probes comprised in the device and of the nucleic acids possibly present in a sample for testing. |
