<p>PURPOSE: A method for inputting and processing characters by combining a voice and a button in a smart TV is provided to increase a voice recognition rate, to rapidly input a phrase, and to perform a command according to inputted contents, thereby supplying a convenient environment to users who are uncomfortable with the smart TV. CONSTITUTION: A voice recognition activating means, a character editing means, and a command database for storing a command corresponding to a phrase or phrase structure are prepared(101). A voice recognition function is activated and a voice for a word unit is inputted(102). The voice recognition function is deactivated after sensing voice input, and a character is generated through voice recognition(103). A user checks the character(104). When a recognition result is not a desired result, the recognition result is deleted by using the character editing means.
