PURPOSE: A strainer for seawater is provided to automatically and efficiently implement maintenance by minimizing unnecessary pressure loss in the strainer due to build-up of foreign materials. CONSTITUTION: A strainer for seawater includes a body, a differential pressure gauge, a filter unit(200), a foreign material removing part(300), a controlling part, and a driving part. A pressure state in the body is displayed on the differential pressure gauge. A plurality of through holes(201) is formed at the filter unit. The foreign material removing part is horizontally arranged to the filter unit. The foreign material removing part includes a scrapper(310) and a brush(320). The controlling part verifies the operation of the foreign material removing part by receiving the pressure variation state of the differential pressure gauge.
