<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for nitriding a stainless material that can achieve a nitrided surface layer that hardly breaks, and to provide a nitrided material nitrided by the nitriding method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for nitriding a stainless material includs heating steps (steps S3 to S5) of heating the stainless material in a nitriding gas atmosphere and keeping the material in a soaking furnace; and a cooling step (step 6) of cooling the stainless material, wherein the nitriding gas used in the heating steps is a mixture of ammonia gas and nitrogen gas, a heating temperature in the heating steps is a temperature at which the stainless material turns into an austenitic phase with respect to nitrogen, and the cooling in the cooling step is gradual cooling for gradually cooling the stainless material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
