摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce irregularities at pixel parts as much as possible and suppress color mixture due to reflection from a vertical conduction part while maintaining high light extraction efficiency, in a top emission type light emitting device comprising a combination of a white organic EL element and a resonance structure. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting device E1 has an optical structure in which an expression of D=ä(2&pi;m+&phiv;<SB POS="POST">L</SB>+&phiv;<SB POS="POST">U</SB>)/4&pi;}&lambda; is satisfied, where D represents a distance between a reflective layer 12 and a counter electrode 22, &phiv;<SB POS="POST">L</SB>represents a phase shift in reflection at the reflective layer 12, &phiv;<SB POS="POST">U</SB>represents a phase shift in reflection at the counter electrode 22, &lambda; represents a peak wavelength of a standing wave generated between the reflective layer 12 and the counter electrode 22, and m represents an integer of 2 or less.
