<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that allows a user to properly determine a state of stains attached to contact glass. <P>SOLUTION: A copier 1 includes: a document conveying unit 10; a document reading unit 20 that irradiates with light a white-colored part, a transparent member provided to an image reading area, and the image reading area so as to read images formed on the document and images in the white-colored part through the transparent member; an image reading control unit 91 that causes the document reading unit 20 to read images in the white-colored part as white-colored image data before the document is conveyed to the image reading area; a white-colored image data storage unit 83 that stores the white-colored image data read by the document reading unit 20; a stained area detection unit 92 that detects a position, shape, and density of a stained area in the transparent member on the basis of the white-colored image data; a display unit 72 that includes a display area corresponding to the image reading area; and a display control unit 93 that displays the position, shape, and density of the stained area detected by the stained area detection unit 92 on a display area of the display unit 72. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
