<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for producing a reinforcing member by which the reinforcing member having uniform density and reinforcing fiber pieces oriented in a definite direction can be produced. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for producing the reinforcing member, a reinforcing fiber piece layer is interposed between a pair of rubber sheets. The method for producing the reinforcing member includes a cutting step for producing a plurality of reinforcing fiber pieces by cutting the reinforcing fiber, a scattering step for forming the reinforcing fiber piece layer by scattering reinforcing fiber pieces on the rubber sheet, a supply step for supplying another rubber sheet onto one rubber sheet to superpose them and for interposing the reinforcing fiber piece layer between these rubber sheets and a press-contacting step for carrying out press-contact by mutually pressing these fellow rubber sheets. The cutting step and the scattering step are continuously carried out. Further in the scattering step, when the reinforcing fiber pieces are scattered via a guide body having openings only in a vertical direction, the rubber sheet which has width along a longitudinal direction becoming narrower from an upper end part toward an lower end part and which has a contraction part gradually decreasing from an upper part toward a lower part, is used as a guide body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
