<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety confirmation system capable of performing safety confirmation and also supporting a homecoming action of a user having a portable terminal. <P>SOLUTION: The safety confirmation system includes a portable terminal 11, a center device 13, and a map server 14. When receiving disaster news flash, the portable terminal 11 automatically acquires current position information and automatically transmits the current position information to the center device 13. The center device 13 transfers the current position information transmitted from the portable terminal 11 and destination information that is previously registered, to the map server 14. The map server 14 retrieves a homecoming route from the current position to the destination on the basis of the current position information and the destination information, and generates map information showing the homecoming route to transmit the map information to the center device 13. The map information provided from the map server 14 is transferred from the center device 13 to the portable terminal 11.
