<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric valve actuator suitably switchable from electric operation to manual operation by a motor with a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: When switching from manual mode to electric mode with the action of a switching motor 33, a clutch key 34 is moved to the side of a direct drive motor 12. Then, a rotary shaft 13 rotates with driving of the direct drive motor 12. Meanwhile, when switching from the electric mode to the manual mode, a switching handle 31 is operated to move the clutch key 34 to the side of a hand wheel 16. Then, the rotary shaft 13 and a hand wheel 16 are engaged. In this state, the supply of electric power is stopped from an electric source 27 to the direct motor 12.
