摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of display image quality by appropriately correcting luminance in response to a feature amount of an input image signal. <P>SOLUTION: A display device includes: a display part including a light-emitting part; a luminance distribution storage part 150A storing luminance distribution information representing light emission luminance distribution and target luminance distribution of the light-emitting part; feature amount calculation parts 190 and 200 calculating a feature amount of an image for determining a necessary amount of suppression correction from image signals of a plurality of pixels; and luminance suppression processing parts 210 and 220 suppressing and correcting display luminance data of the pixels on the basis of the luminance distribution information and the feature amount. The luminance suppression processing parts determine the necessary amount of the suppression correction of the display luminance of each pixel on the basis of the feature amount, and performs the suppression correction on the display luminance data of the pixel corresponding to a high-luminance region whose light emission luminance distribution of the display part is higher than the target luminance distribution on the basis of the possible amount of the suppression correction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
