<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection accuracy of a detection target. <P>SOLUTION: A detection apparatus comprises an infrared sensor, an environmental temperature acquisition section, a storage section, and an arithmetic section. The infrared sensor outputs signals for an amount corresponding to received light of an infrared domain. The environmental temperature acquisition section acquires an environmental temperature. The storage section stores therein lookup tables which are provided for each of environmental temperatures in accordance with distances to detect a detection target and are used for converting the output of the infrared sensor into a gradation value. The arithmetic section refers to the lookup table corresponding to the environmental temperature acquired by the environmental temperature acquisition section and the distance to detect the detection target, generates a plurality of images of different resolutions by converting the output of the infrared sensor into the gradation value and detects the detection target by applying a search window of a predetermined size to be used for detecting the detection target into the plurality of images. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
