<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wastewater treatment apparatus by oxygen gas using electric energy in which oxygen gas is activated in a high electric field in a gas phase, O<SB POS="POST">2</SB><SP POS="POST">-</SP>is generated and is dissolved in treated water, OH radicals are generated by the subsequent reaction, and thereby, organic material in wastewater is dissolved and COD is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: In the gas phase, oxygen is reduced by electric energy, a superoxide anion radical which is a precursor of an active oxygen species is generated, and is speedily introduced into the treated water, and organic components of the wastewater are efficiently oxidized and decomposed by hydrogen peroxide radicals and OH radicals which are active oxygen species generated by reaction with water in the wastewater. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
