<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality in images output by imaging means. <P>SOLUTION: An image sensor 16 captures a scene through an optical system. A CPU 26 adjusts a subject distance to a designated distance, and adjusts a depth of field to a predetermined depth corresponding to the completion of an adjustment. A touch sensor 50 and the CPU 26 accept a change operation for changing the length of the designated distance.
