<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter that improves the safety of an inverter by stably suppressing short-circuit energy of a power semiconductor device and to provide an electric vehicle using the same. <P>SOLUTION: A gate voltage at short circuit is clamped to a Zener voltage of a Zener diode 301 for clamp by turning on a MOSFET 302 for Zener clamp. By forcibly operating the Zener clamp for a fixed period, gate oscillation abnormality of repeating turning-on and -off of Zener clamp operations can be prevented, and short-circuit energy of an IGBT can be safely suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
