<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of sealing an engine component, which is capable of improving adhesion of FIPG (Formed In Place Gasket). <P>SOLUTION: The method of sealing the engine component is provided for sealing a cylinder block 101 with a cylinder head 102 in an engine 100 by the FIPG 10. The method includes: pre-cleaning an application surface of the FIPG 10 between a mating surface S1 of the cylinder block 101 and a mating surface S2 of the cylinder head 102; and performing plasma processing of the application surface of the FIPG 10 between the mating surface S1 of the cylinder block 101 and the mating surface S2 of the cylinder head 102. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
