<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input device and program for defining a probability density function to a coordinate for each character constituting each word and further employing a model taking a context into consideration, thereby performing more accurate word or word string presentation. <P>SOLUTION: A character input device includes: a word dictionary managing unit 14 for storing a combination of a word and a character string constituting the word; a word model managing unit 16 for storing a word model in which a probability density function with a two-dimensional coordinate as a variable is associated with each character constituting each word stored in the word dictionary managing unit 14; a character occurrence probability calculating unit 18 for calculating an occurrence probability value of each character corresponding to the order thereof from the start of input, on the basis of a contact coordinate at the time of a user contact and the word model; and a word occurrence probability calculating unit 20 for calculating a cumulative probability value for each character corresponding to the order thereof from the start of input as a cumulative occurrence probability, on the basis of the occurrence probability value of each character; and an input candidate word selecting unit 22 for selecting words in descending order of the cumulative probability value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
