<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an easy-to-see pictographic image to be easily created. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: a size regulation section for, when an original image having a picture pattern intended to be converted to a pictographic image is inputted, adding a blank space to the left, right, top and bottom of the inputted original image to form a square image; an exaggeration processing section for regulating the resolution of the image inputted from the size regulation section and then executing exaggeration processing in which a linewidth of a drawn portion of the picture pattern contained in the image is increased; a trimming processing section for subjecting the image subjected to the exaggeration processing to trimming processing to extract the drawn portion, and adding a blank space to the left, right, top and bottom of the drawn portion to form a square image; and a reduction processing section for reducing the image outputted from the trimming processing section to, for example, a size of 20×20 dots, to generate a reduced image to be outputted as a pictographic image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
