<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to surely operate an operation target without an operational error in a screen displaying display objects even in an overlapping or inextricable manner. <P>SOLUTION: A touch screen device arranges and displays display objects categorized in a plurality of layers (layers 1 to 4) by each layer on a screen of a touch panel display 20. At this time, the device detects the number of contact points (the number of fingers 60 with which a user performs touch operations), and selects a layer of a display object of an operation target on the basis of the number of contact points. When the user performs movement operations with one finger, thumb nails 16 of the layer 2 moves in the same direction as a thumbnail list base 15 of the layer 1.
