<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction stir welding apparatus capable of easily heating or cooling a workpiece at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The friction stir welding apparatus 100 which performs friction stir welding on the workpiece W by bringing a tool 30 into contact with a surface of the workpiece W and rotating the tool 30 about an axis O<SB POS="POST">1</SB>of the tool 30 and relatively moving the tool 30 to the predetermined advance direction includes: a vortex tube 40 which separates compressed air into hot air H hotter than the compressed air and cool air C cooler than the compressed air and ejects the hot and cool air, wherein at least one of the hot air H and the cool air C is supplied to the surface of the workpiece W. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
