<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire reel supporting device 32 for a welding wire feeding device, with which a welding wire is fed stably. <P>SOLUTION: In the wire reel supporting device 32, a fixed shaft 21 is fixed to a stay plate 1, a rotary shaft 22 is supported freely rotatably with the fixed shaft 21 and a wire reel 13 is mounted to the circumference of the rotary shaft 22. Two oil seals 25, 26 are attached between the fixed shaft 21 and the rotary shaft 22, a closed space is formed with the two oil seals 25, 26, and the fixed shaft 21, and in the closed space, a braking force generating medium 29 is sealed. A brake member 30 is provided in the inside of the rotary shaft 22 and frictional force is generated when the brake member 30 passes through the braking force generating medium 29.
