[Problem] The demand for water has been growing in recent years, and poses a problem that mankind must solve. Converting seawater into fresh water can solve this problem. There are various methods for converting seawater into fresh water, and some of these methods have already been put into practice. The individual methods will not be described here, but a more inexpensive way of obtaining fresh water is needed. [Solution] Separating Na+ and Cl- ions in seawater salt in the most inexpensive manner possible can be achieved by minimizing the respective movements of the Na+ and Cl- ions. Ion separation is promoted by moving the Na+ and Cl- ions within a magnetic field and moving the Na+ and Cl- ions in opposing directions according to the charge of each, and providing micro partitions corresponding to such movements. In order to move the Na+ and Cl- ions within the magnetic field, electromagnets are used to generate a magnetic field and vibrations are applied to such movement. In synchronization with such vibrating, the conductive direction of the electromagnets is reversed to reverse the direction of the magnetic field, whereby the respective moving directions of the Na+ and Cl- ions separate into two directions. |
