Described is a machine for cutting pipes comprising a unit (4) for feeding a pipe (2) extending along a respective central axis (D), configured to set the pipe (2) in rotation about the central axis (D) and to simultaneously translate it along a feed direction (A) parallel to the central axis (D) and a laser cutting device (7) having a means (8) for generating a laser beam (9), a unit (10) for orientation of the laser beam (9) and a focussing element (11). The orientation unit (10) comprises a first orientating element (10a) positioned in such a way as to intercept the laser beam (9) generated by the generating means (8) and rotatable about an axis of rotation (B) contained in a plane perpendicular to the central axis (D) and a second orientating element (10b) movable along the direction (A) for feeding the pipe (2) during cutting and rotatable so as to keep fixed its orientation relative to the first orientating element (10a) during cutting, in such a way as to intercept the laser beam (9) diverted by the first orientating element (10a) during the rotation of the first orientating element (10a) itself and direct it at the cutting zone (2a) perpendicularly to the pipe (2) while the latter is being fed.
