<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a locking device that safely operates, for regulating engagement of a reverse gear in a transmission of an automobile. <P>SOLUTION: A regulating member 2 is disposed in a housing 1 and movable between first and second positions. At the first position, the regulating member regulates movement of a transmission component 15, whereas at the second position, the regulating member allows movement of the transmission component 15. A sensor 8 indicating the engagement of a reverse gear is disposed in the housing 1. The regulating member 2 can move in an axial direction in the housing 1. The regulating member 2 follows the displacement of a center member 3. The center member 3 can also move in the axial direction by a solenoid configuration 18 in the housing 1. A coil 5 in the solenoid configuration 18 encloses the center member 3. The solenoid configuration 18 and the regulating member 2 are protected from contaminants and disposed in a chamber 9 of the housing 1 without leaving a gap. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
