[Problem] To provide a communication-device automatic setting method and system which can improve security by making it possible for a service provider other than a telecommunications carrier to specify a user. [Solution] A communication-device automatic setting system (10) is provided on a network (11) to which a plurality of servers and a communication device are connected. In response to the initial access from a communication device (12) to be set, the communication-device automatic setting system (10) establishes a closed network (30) between the communication device (12) and a service provider (ISP1) which provides setting information, and between the communication device (12) and the service provider (ISP1), the communication-device automatic setting system (10) carries out an automatic setting process by way of the closed network (30).
