<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device which is used in the backlight unit of a display device including a display panel, and can irradiate an irradiated body with light having a uniform amount of light in the plane direction. <P>SOLUTION: The light-emitting section 11 of a backlight unit 1 includes an LED chip 111a emitting light, a base 111 provided on a printed circuit board 12 and supporting the LED chip 111a, a lens 112 provided to cover the LED chip 111a and the base 111 and reflecting or refracting the incident light, and a reflection member 113 provided around the base 111 on which the LED chip 111a is supported. The pitch P(m) between the adjoining LED chips 111a and the ratio I<SB POS="POST">H</SB>(%) of the amount of light exiting the lens 112 to that of the diffusion component for total amount of light satisfy a relation P<SP POS="POST">2</SP>/(I<SB POS="POST">H</SB>×0.000625)≤0.1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
