<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress drag in a disc brake device having both functions of an electric parking brake device and a service brake device. <P>SOLUTION: In the disc brake device 10, a parking brake piston 32 contains a service brake piston 34, and as operating fluid is supplied to a fluid chamber formed between the parking brake piston and the contained service brake piston 34, the service brake piston 34 is driven and is brought into abutment with a brake pad 16, and the brake pad 16 is pressed to a disc rotor 14. The parking brake piston 32 has a male thread part 32c on the outer circumferential surface. A propulsion mechanism 20 has a nut 42 meshed with the male thread part 32c. The propulsion mechanism 20 drives the nut 42 as a motor 56 is operated to axially drive the parking brake piston 32, which comes into abutment with the brake pad 16, and the brake pad 16 is pressed to a disc rotor 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
