<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure high safety while reducing assembly costs. <P>SOLUTION: A power unit for electric power comprises a cell block 3, a cooling plate 4 and a cooling mechanism 5. In the cell block 3, a plurality of angular cells 1 each including a conductive exterior can 11 are insulated by insulating layers 2 and disposed while being stacked. The cooling plate 4 is disposed on a bottom surface of the cell block 3 while being thermally coupled to each of the angular cells 1 and forcibly cools each of the angular cells 1 from the bottom surface. The cooling mechanism 5 cools the cooling plate 4. The insulating layer 2 is formed to be laminated at a fixed position in a fitting structure fitting the insulating layers to each other, and formed integrally with the exterior can 11.
