<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preform cutting device capable of dividing a preform into respective inspection parts without losing the weight. <P>SOLUTION: The cutting device 2 has a spindle stock 22 and a cutter 25. The spindle stock 22 grips the preform 1 so that a central axis of the preform 1 coincides with a rotation axis while making the preform 1 rotate around the rotation axis. The cutter 25 has a blade longer than the thickness of the preform 1 and a sharp-pointed cutting edge. The direction of the cutting edge is orthogonal to the rotation axis of the spindle stock 22.
