<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axle bearing apparatus which causes a broken hub shaft to be hardly separated even if the hub shaft is broken by the action of an abnormal load and which is capable of preventing a wheel from coming off a vehicle body. <P>SOLUTION: The axle bearing apparatus 1 includes: an outer ring member 11, on the inner circumferential part of which double rows of outer ring raceways 11a, 11b are formed; an inner ring member 12, on the outer circumferential surface of which an inner ring raceway 12a is formed; a hub axle 13, at one side end in the axial direction of which a hub flange 13b is formed, at the center outer circumferential part of which an inner ring raceway 13a is formed, and at the opposite end in the axial direction to the hub flange 13b of which a fitting part 13c to the inner ring member 12 is formed; two rows of rolling elements 14, which roll between the outer ring raceways 11a, in double rows and the inner ring raceways 12a, 13a; and two retainers 15, which retain the two rows of rolling elements 14 at predetermined intervals. A hollow hole 13d in the axial direction is provided in the center of the hub axle 13 and a core member 16 made of a material having larger ductility than the material of the hub axle 13 is fitted into the hollow hole 13d. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
