<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor that has desired mechanical durability, includes a surface layer having excellent electrical characteristics, prevents the occurrence of failure relating to output image quality of an image forming apparatus such as wear and scratches due to repeated use of the electrophotographic photoreceptor, and has excellent electrical characteristics, as well as a process cartridge for an image forming apparatus using the electrophotographic photoreceptor, an image forming apparatus, and an image forming method. <P>SOLUTION: An electrophotographic photoreceptor includes at least a photosensitive layer and a surface layer on a conductive support in this order.
