<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker that can eliminate, an inconsistency between the estimated time to the completion of rice cooking and the actual time required for the rice cooking, when indicating an estimated time to the completion of rice cooking, and cooking rice by switching cooking sequences according to the amount of water used for generation of superheated steam. <P>SOLUTION: The rice cooker includes: a steam path 16 in which steam is heated; a thermistor 23 for detecting an amount of water in a water tank 11a; a control circuit 30 serving as a remaining time indicator for indicating an estimated time to the completion of rice cooking; and a menu with supplying steam and a menu without supplying steam. In the menu for supplying steam, the thermistor 23 detects an amount of water after a predetermined time has passed since the beginning of rice cooking, and rice is cooked according to a sequence determined by the detected amount of water. In the menu without supplying steam, the thermistor 23 is not actuated. In rice cooking according to the menu with supplying steam, the control circuit 30 changes and indicates the estimated time to the completion of rice cooking based on the amount of water detected by the thermistor 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
