The window lifter (1) has a window pane that is fixed on a driver (2). A guide unit (3) is arranged to guide the driver along a displacement path (A) between the end positions (C,D). An additional guide unit (4) is provided to guide the driver only along a portion of the displacement path (B). The guide units are equipped with the guide rails (3a,4a) and guide elements (3b,4b). The guide elements are engaged with the guide rails.
