PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder with a detachable document tray which is prevented from being detached in error from the feeder with the operation of drawing an auxiliary tray. SOLUTION: Document restricting plates 3, 4 have engaging portions which are arranged on one of a device body 1 and the document tray 5 of the sheet feeder, provided on the restricting plates and protruded toward the other, or which are provided on the other and protruded toward the restricting plates, and locking portions 5a, 5b which are provided on the other or the restricting plates for engaging with the engaging portions.
