BACKLIGHT UNIT AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE HAVING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A backlight unit and a liquid crystal display including the same are provided to improve color reproduction by using a light array including a light emitting diode and a laser diode. CONSTITUTION: A second light source array(175) faces a first light source array(170). A light guide plate radiates the light generated by the first source array and the second light source array in a specific direction. An optical sheet diffuses or scatters the light coming from the light guide plate. The light emitting diodes of the first light source array includes a cyan LED(170b) consisting of a blue chip and fluorescent substance. Laser diodes of the second light source array are red laser diodes(175b).
