An alloy of 250 grms. zinc and 10,15 grms. cadmium is used as a battery electrode. The alloy may be made in the ordinary way, or an amalgam of cadmium and mercury may be applied to the surface of the zinc. Alternatively the zinc may be first plated with cadmium and then mercury applied to the cadmium surface, the proportions being zinc 250 grms, cadmium 5 grms, mercury 5 grms. |
