PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for repairing a glass substrate are provided to reduce a residual portion as a protrusion with a large diameter is repaired and a ground portion is formed in a wide range. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for repairing a glass substrate comprises a measuring unit, a judging unit, and a repairing unit(35). The measuring unit measures the size of a protruding portion. The judging unit determines the way of repairing the substrate on the basis of the diameter of the protruding portion. The repairing unit repairs the protruding portion on the substrate. The repairing unit comprises a grinding head(130) and a grinding tape(144). The grinding head vertically presses the protruding portion on the substrate. The grinding tape horizontally moves in contact with the grinding head, and repairs the protruding portion.
