A plug-in module 2a housing a wireless receiver or transceiver has a DIN connector for direct connection to a valve or pump 1. The module receives remote control signals from a handheld device such as a mobile phone or computer in order to control the valve or pump. The module may have male and female DIN connectors on front and back of the housing allowing also a DIN power connection to be made to the module. The module may also be powered by battery, solar cell or peltie energy cell. The module may also house a SIM card and send a text message to a third party. Also included may be a timer device.
