PURPOSE: A noise removing device of a boundary region and a method thereof are provided to effectively maintain edge conservation and a noise removing function and overcome a limit of edge expression caused by uneven planarization in a boundary of a feature point. CONSTITUTION: An edge detecting unit(100) detects an edge value of horizontal/vertical directions from an input image. The edge detecting unit extracts feature point information of the input image by using the detected edge value. A parameter applying unit(102) controls a parameter of a weight value function according to distance for planarization performance of the input image by using the edge value and the feature point information detected from the edge detecting unit. A both directions filter unit(104) performs planarization for the input image by using the weight value function according to distance.
