Manufacture of thin-film solar cell involves forming electroconductive layer (E1) on sheet having an electrically-insulating surface, applying layer (L1) comprising semiconductor material (S1) on electroconductive layer (E1), sintering the layer (L1), applying layer (L2) containing semiconductor material (S2) on layer (L1), applying electroconductive layer (E2) on layer (L2). Content of foreign phases at surface of layer (L1) is minimized by sintering layer (L1) under protective atmosphere (excluding oxygen), and optionally removing impurity phases at surface of layer (L1).
