System and methods for assembling a wind turbine with a pitch assembly

A rotor blade adapted for use with a rotor of a wind turbine is provided. The rotor blade (22) includes: (a) a blade root portion (24) adapted for, in use, transferring a load acting on the blade (22) to the rotor (18) through a blade coupling assembly (92) of the rotor (18). The blade coupling assembly (92) includes a rotatable hub and a pitch bearing. The rotor blade (22) further includes: (b) at least one reinforcement element disposed in the blade root portion (24) of the rotor blade (22) for stiffening the blade coupling assembly (92) of the rotor. Furthermore, a wind turbine (10) including the above rotor blade (22) and a method of assembling the wind turbine (10) are provided.
