PURPOSE: A graphic user interface providing device and a method thereof are provided to immediately control a portable device without changing a display level by displaying a shelf area at the same display level a basic background. CONSTITUTION: A selectable graphic object(202a) is displayed on a first area. A second area(201) of an MxN shape is generated through user settings. A control unit adds one or more graphic objects(202b,202c) through a selection by the user in the second area. If the added graphic objects are more than N-pieces, the control unit controls the display of the added graphic objects to select, execute, or navigate the added graphic objects in the second area through flicking or touching.
