<p>A balance board 10 for exercise comprising a mounting plate 12, a level plate and a rocker 14 wherein the level plate is in a horizontal position when an equal force is applied to both sides of the rocker 14. The mounting plate 12 may comprise two foot plates 32, 34 which may tilt relative to the mounting plate 12. The foot plates 32, 34 may comprise additional weight mounts and foot retainers e.g. straps or boot bindings. The height of the foot plates 32, 34 or the distance between them may be varied. The mounting plate 12 may be configured to be inclined with respect to the level plate to simulate terrain such as uphill or downhill. The mounting plate may be provided with a spirit level, an electrogoniometer to measure the time deviation from a balanced position or an electromyography to measure the muscular contribution of each leg.</p> |
