PURPOSE: A semiconductor light emitting device, a manufacturing method thereof, a semiconductor light emitting package, and a laser processing device are provided to improve side light extraction efficiency by reducing internal total reflection of light emitted to the side of a substrate. CONSTITUTION: A nitride structure(12) comprises an active layer. The nitride structure is formed with a plurality of epitaxial layers. The active layer is laminated on the upper side of a substrate(11) and creates light. A horizontal cross section of the substrate and the nitrate structure is formed into a diamond shape. One or more reforming regions(111,112) are formed at one side of the substrate.
