The force-transmitting mechanism (310) has a load-receiving section (12) that is joined to a measurement transducer (30) arranged on a stationary section (11) through a coupling element or main lever. A calibration lever has a fulcrum that is supported on the load-receiving section, and a calibration lever arm that is rigidly connected to a calibration weight (23). A coupling mechanism is arranged between the calibration lever and main lever. Either tractive force or compressive force is transmitted between the coupling units of the coupling mechanism. An independent claim is included for a gravimetric measuring instrument.
