<p>The flow meter has a magnetic field generation device for generating a magnetic field that partially permeates a measuring conduit (1). Two electrodes detect a measuring voltage induced in flowing medium. The measuring conduit, the magnetic field generation device and the electrodes are surrounded by a housing (2) that exhibits a circular cross-section. An inlet portion (5) of the measuring conduit comprises two partial sections (5a, 5b), where cross-sections of the partial sections increase and decrease in a flow direction of the medium, respectively. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a magnetic-inductive flow meter.</p> |
