<p>A connection device or insert is disclosed for an extendable length golf club that comprises a second shaft (124, fig 1) configured to movably receive a first shaft (112, fig 1). The connection device comprises a first section 2004 connected to the first shaft and a second section (2006, fig 45) inserted in the hollow portion of the second shaft, wherein the outer diameter of the second section is greater than the outer diameter of the first section. The second section of the connection device may comprise a slit and may be configured to compress when inserted to frictionally engage the second shaft. The first section may be attached to the first shaft with an adhesive. The adjustable golf club may additionally comprise a collar or clamp (fig 16). The connection device helps ensure the shafts are fitted concentrically and to secure the shafts to prevent relative movement and vibrations.</p> |
