PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil composition excellent in viscosity increase-inhibiting property and capable of achieving sufficient long-draining, an anti-oxidant suitable for obtaining such the lubricating oil composition, and a method for capable of sufficiently inhibiting the viscosity increase accompanying with the use of the lubricating oil. SOLUTION: This lubricating oil composition contains lubricating oil base oil, an organotungsten compound and an ashless anti-oxidant. Also, the anti-oxidant composition contains the organotungsten compound and the ashless anti-oxidant. Further, the method for inhibiting the viscosity increase of the lubricating oil is provided by incorporating the organotungsten compound and ashless anti-oxidant in the lubricating oil.
