A system for heat sealing layered sheets of plastic, concomitantly with embossing a distinctive pattern 38, 40 across at least one face of the heat soldered seam. The system has at least one pressing face 30,32 that includes the mirror image of the pattern to be embossed across a face of the seam, formed therein. Alternatively, pressing faces embedding electrical heaters provide for embossing a changeable pattern across the faces of the seam. Sealing dies (212, fig 6A) for heat soldering a cover (204) made of thin foil of plastic such as polyethylene to the sidewalls of receptacle such as cup pack (202) is also provided. |
