PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus properly synchronizing the phases of a plurality of photoreceptors in a shorter time. SOLUTION: A control section performs control so that the rotational speed of a magenta photoreceptor may be lower than the present rotational speed, to align a magenta eccentric position F with a black eccentric position B (S35). It takes time to synchronize the phases due to a lower limit speed. Then, a predetermined angle is changed (S36). The control section performs control so that the rotational speed of the magenta photoreceptor may be made higher than the present rotational speed, to align the magenta eccentric position F with the black eccentric position B (S37).
